I’m Sam Stadlen, a professional viola da gamba player and member of Fretwork viol consort. As well as being an international touring musician, I’m also a videographer and audio engineer. I set up Stadlen Productions to provide classical musicians with high quality audio and video recordings for use on YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. Using a range of professional microphones and cameras, I offer concert recordings and promotional videos and audio.

Post-pandemic, online visibility is absolutely essential for any professional musician. Videos in particular are an essential resource for any musician or ensemble to generate interest in and boost public awareness of your concerts, recording projects, teaching, and other activities. Being a professional musician myself, I bring a great deal of performance experience and understanding to each of my recording projects and always work closely with clients to achieve their ideal sound and visual aesthetic.

I offer recordings ranging in complexity from single-shot, one-take videos for use as music competition submissions, through to complex, multi-angle recordings patched between multiple takes to achieve the perfect performance. I use Panasonic GH5 cameras to provide up to 4K resolution and an array of microphones by Neumann, Line Audio and others for high-fidelity audio.
